The Aquatic Explorers Scuba Club is dedicated to promoting and protecting the sport of scuba diving. It provides members with a network of recreational and professional divers to share experiences, learn from, and dive with. The scuba club was first Incorporated June 21, 1957 as the Empire State Rescue Squad and began teaching Scuba in 1958. In 1960 the name was changed to the Aquatic Explorers and participated in many dive activities in the local lakes and rivers.
Who are The New York City Sea Gypsies? Founded by local scuba divers and instructors in 1971, we are a not-for-profit club made up of individuals of diverse ages and from all walks of life with one thing in common, we all share a love of scuba diving. Kings County Divers is a Brooklyn based group of divers and all around water enthusiasts who get together for a variety of scuba diving and dive related activities. Our members come from a variety backgrounds to share our mutual love of diving, so whatever you're interests or experience level, we have something for everyone.
